Thoughts...yesterday I was looking and taking pictures at mom's flowers, they are so full of beauty and colors...Nature can be special and overwhelming...but it can be scarry and dangerous...

Emilia Romagna's earthquakes are constantly in our thoughts in these days, all the persons that had to leave their houses, the losses...

Rachele is growing, she is becoming a teenager and she is starting to wonder about the world and all the aspects of life, she is asking questions, she is actively listening to the news...and I am trying to give answers, I am hoping to give wise points of view...

we worked together on Saturday, while talking about all this, to prepare the clothes that Cuore di Maglia will send in Emilia Romagna for the ones in need.

Pensieri...ieri osservavo e fotografavo i fiori della mamma, sono così belli e colorati...La natura può essere speciale e travolgente...ma può essere anche spaventosa e pericolosa...

I terremoti in Emilia Romagna sono costantemente nei nostri pensieri in questi giorni, tutte le persone che hanno dovuto abbandonare le loro case, le perdite...

Rachele sta crescendo, sta diventando un'adolescente e inizia a interrogarsi sul mondo e su tutti gli aspetti della vita, inizia a fare domande, ascolta attivamente le notizie...e provo a dare risposte, spero di dare punti di vista intelligenti...

sabato abbiamo lavorato insieme, mentre parlavamo di tutto questo, per preparare i vestiti che Cuore di Maglia manderà in Emilia Romagna.

It's sewing time:) The weather is warmer and we need new skirts. So I searched for some cotton fabrics with happy designs and lovely colors: these are actually patchwork fabrics and they are perfect for what I have in  mind. This time Rachele has asked me to try to sew her skirt by herself and this afternoon, after school and homework she will do it. I am so excited:)

As her fisrt skirt I was thinking to make the simple pattern from a rectangle with an elastic band at the waist. Then she can decorate it with ribbons and appliqué. For me, I am going to sew a skirt from the rectangle, as in the wideo that I made some years ago. It is still my favorite way:)) And for Matilde, we will see what her creativity will think:))

E ora del cucito:) L'aria è più calda e abbiamo bisogno di nuove gonne. Così ho cercato dei tessuti di cotone con dei disegni allegri e bei colori: questi in realtà sono tessuti per patchwork e sono perfetti per ciò che ho in mente. Questa volta Rachele mi ha chiesto se poteva cucirsi da sola la sua gonna e questo pomeriggio, dopo la scuola e i compiti lo farà. Sono così emozionata:)

Come sua prima gonna pensavo di farle fare il modello semplice da un rettangolo con l'elastico in vita. Poi potrà decorarla con nastri e applicazioni. Per me, cucirò la gonna dal rettangolo, come nel video che ho fatto qualche anno fa. E' ancora il mio metodo preferito:)) E per Matilde, vedremo cosa la sua creatività immaginerà:))

Shrug Kal - Kal per un Coprispalle

In the Kal form Italy Group on Raverly we are already thinking about a kal for the end of June: the project will be a shrug. The patterns are going to be Danzando and  Torino's Atmosphere Shrug (thank you for porposing them, it has made me really happy:) You can knit which one you prefer, but we will knit, chat together and enjoy the experience of being a group in building up a project.

Shrugs and capes are my latest obsession...it might depend that I like to feel my shoulder's covered even in the hottest days, that I feel more at ease...or that I feel more dressed up with them...so I am thinking to knit my shrug in cotton...for lovely summer evenings. But I don't know yet which one I will knit...

Nel Gruppo Kal from Italy su Raverly stiamo già pensando a un kal per fine giungo: il progetto sarà un coprispalle. I pattern saranno Danzando e Torino's Atmospehere Shrug (grazie per averli proposti, ciò mi ha reso molto felice:) Potrete realizzare quello che preferite tra i due, ma lavoreremo insieme, chiacchiereremo e ci divertiremo condividendo l'esperienza di essere un gruppo nel materializzare un progetto.

Coprispalle e cappe sono la mia ultima ossessione...può dipendere dal fatto che mi piace sentire le mie spalle coperte anche nei giorni più caldi, che mi sento più a mio agio...o mi sento più vestita...realizzerò il mio coprispalle in cotone...per le belle serate estive. Ma non so ancora quale farò...

Cooking - Cucinare

 

Cooking has never been one of my passions, DH is the one who cooks special and delicious dishes, if I have some free time I prefer to knit...Little one loves to cook and she had asked me to make some butter cookies. It was the first time with my gluten free flower...she was so happy preparing everything and making all the forms. We had a really special afternoon:)) 

Cucinare non è mai stata una delle mie passioni, il caro maritino prepara i piatti speciali e delizioni a casa nostra, se ho del tempo libero preferisco lavorare a maglia...La piccola adora cucinare e mi aveva chiesto di preparare dei biscotti al burro ed era la prima volta con la mia farina senza glutine...era così felice mentre preparava tutto e creava le forme. Abbiamo passato un pomeriggio veramente speciale:))
